The Thangka was drawn by the old Master Tibetan artist, Dunzhu. This thangka, The Life of Sakyamuni Buddha, also known as The Origin of Sakyamuni Buddha, depicts the 12 major deeds of Buddha’s life. Created in the 18th century during the Qing dynasty, this thangka has been passed down for more than 300 years. The strong brush strokes represent a mountain and in the long ink trail appears Bodhidharma.

From faraway India thousands of miles away, escorted by celestial dragons across the central plains of China.

Originally intending just to paint the word ‘mountain’, but as the paintbrush moved carefreely across the canvas, the image of Bodhidharma riding a dragon appeared instead, showing the affinity Grandmaster has with the Bodhidharma.
