The Song Dynasty, dating back 800 to 1,000 years, was a golden era in the development of Chinese ceramic craftsmanship. Famous for its celadon wares, the Song Dynasty saw the rise of renowned kilns such as Longquan and Ru, known for their jade-like glaze and elegant forms. The design of this Guan'er treasure vase symbolizes the concept of "Lianzhong Sanyuan" (achieving top rankings consecutively in the imperial examinations).

In ancient China’s imperial examination system, those who attained first place in the Xiangshi (provincial exam), Huishi (metropolitan exam), and Dianshi (palace exam) were honored as “Three Firsts” (Sanyuan Jidi), symbolizing a successful official career.
